--- The Touhou98 Experience ---

A pack with the Touhou PC98 games, prepared with love by some anon from /jp/.

-- How to Use

- Open the folder of the game you want to play.
- Double click on the exe of the Japanese (thXX) or English (thXXe) version.
- Enjoy!

-- Main Features

- Custom Touhou-styled icons for diving straight into the games, no need to set up any emulator settings.
- Both Japanese and English versions of the games are included.
- The game disks are free of any custom settings and score files, for a brand-new game experience.

-- Stuff to Know

- You can change the emulators' settings freely, they will be kept across all games.
- Each game has a different hdi disk file inside the "disks" folder. If you have played the games in the past
and have got some disk files with scores, you can replace the files in the "disks" folder with yours to keep
  the savedata.

- The English-patched games are slightly less stable than the original ones, for example th05 may crash for
unknown reasons after completing the Extra stage. They're stable enough for general play, and especially
for reading the story, but any extremely serious runs are best attempted on the Japanese games.

- The Japanese version of th01 comes with the Anniversary Edition update released by nmlgc after reverse
engineering the entire game (more info at http://rec98.nmlgc.net/blog). It runs more smoothly and with
fewer visual glitches than the original game, with all bugs fixed while maintaining the same playability.
- The Japanese version of th04 comes with a few patches released by nmlgc, which fix a couple rare crashes
the original had, specifically division errors on the second and fourth (when playing as reimu) boss
  battles.

-- Tricks for using DOSBox-X

- F11 is the magic key.
- To enter and exit fullscreen mode, hold F11 and press F.
- To take a screenshot, hold F11 and press S.
- If the emulator is running slow, you can try increasing or decreasing the number of cycles from the
"CPU > Emulate CPU speed" menu. The starting is 72000 cycles, try decreasing it a bit for starters.
[If the number of cycles is too high, your PC won't be able to emulate properly and everything will lag,
including the lighter sections of the games. If the number is too low, the emulated computer will lag,
but usually only on the heaviest sections of the games (like MS Extra, shortly before the midboss).]
- Any settings you change will be applied immediately, but they will only be saved by opening the
"Main > Configuration tool" menu and clicking on "Save" (it's the button on the bottom left)
then confirming. Otherwise they'll get reset next time you open a game.
